| 요약2 | The present study investigated disparities in park services and seniors’ satisfaction on using neighborhood parks by socioeconomic status(SES). Four neighborhoods with different income levels in Seongnam City and Daegu City were purposely selected for comparison. The park services were analyzed using GIS and a question -naire survey was conducted with senior park users to examine their perception and satisfaction on parks. We found that low SES neighborhoods had lower amounts of parks than high SES areas. In addition, the park users in low SES areas had lower level of satisfaction with park availability, accessibility and safety than those in high SES areas. No significant differences were found in the satisfaction with rest areas, naturalness, and management, but the seniors in low SES areas had lower level of satisfaction with amenities and fitness facilities. More qualitative studies on seniors’ needs and satisfaction with parks will be needed to promote seniors’ park uses and physical activity. |
