| 요약1 | 우리나라의 모텔촌은 도시 내에서 교육환경, 주거환경, 도시미관에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 측면이 꾸준히 지적받아 왔다. 이러한 상황에서 모텔촌의 가로경관 관리ㆍ개선은 모텔촌의 영업에 영향을 적게 주면서도 모텔촌의 이미지를 개선할 수 있는 방안이다. 그러나 현재 국내외에서 모텔촌의 가로경관 특성에 대한 연구는 활발하게 이루어지지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 모텔촌 가로경관의 특성을 파악하여 향후 모텔촌 가로경관의 관리 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 모텔촌의 가로경관은 경관미 측면에서 인근 상업가로에 비해 다소 떨어지며, ‘답답하다’, ‘막혀 있다’, ‘멋없다’, ‘불쾌하다’, ‘획일적이다’ 등의 느낌을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 요인분석 결과, 모텔촌의 경관 이미지 평가에는 조화성, 개방성의 두 가지 요인이 존재함을 확인하였으며, 특히 개방성 측면에서 모텔촌과 인근 상업가로가 차이를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 다중회귀분석의 결과, 모텔촌의 경관미에 개방성보다 조화성이 더욱 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나서 향후 모텔촌 가로경관의 조화성을 증진시키는 방향으로 관리가 이루어져야 할 것이다. |
| 요약2 | Motel clusters in Korea have been consistently criticized for their possible adverse effects on educational environment, residential environment and urban landscape. The negative effects of motel clusters can be reduced through enhancing their streetscape quality, but not much has been addressed on this issue in the previous studies. Therefore, this study aims at investigating the characteristics of the streetscape of motel clusters. The result showed that the aesthetic quality of the streetscape of the motel clusters was lower than that of the nearby commercial streets. The streetscape of the motel clusters were evaluated to be more ‘suffocating’, ‘closed’, ‘dull’, ‘unpleasant’, and ‘uniform’. We found that two factors, index of harmony and index of openness, played a key role in evaluating the image of the motel clusters. The result of multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the index of harmony was much more important in aesthetic judgement of the motel clusters. Motel clusters management should be carried out in order to enhance the harmony of the landscape of the motel clusters. |
