| 요약1 | 본 연구는 가로가 지니는 연결(Link)과 장소(Place) 기능을 가로 설계에 동시에 고려하기 위해 Jones 등(2007)이 제시한 Link & Place 설계기법을 소개하고 이 기법의 국내 도입 가능성을 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. Link & Place 설계기법은 개별 가로구간이 도시 전체 가로망 체계에서 요구되는 Link와 Place 기능의 요구 수준을 파악하고 이에 맞는 가로 설계를 유도하는 일련의 과정을 의미한다. 여기에는 가로의 Link와 Place 수준평가, 가로성능지표 설정, 가로별 개선 우선순위 도출 등의 절차가 포함된다. 본 연구에서는 동 기법을 서울시 마포구 도화동 일원의 보행우선구역에 적용하여 설계대안의 적절성을 토의하였다. 그 결과 도화길은 차량의 Link 기능을 낮추고 보행자의 Place 기능을 강조하는 설계가 요구되었으며 제시된 설계대안이 이러한 측면을 적절히 반영하는 것으로 나타났다. Link & Place 설계기법의 국내 도입을 위해서는 가로성능지표를 자전거, 버스, 화물차량 등 다양한 가로 이용자를 기준으로 도출하고 이들의 가로 유형별 수준을 분석하는 등 추가 연구가 필요한 것으로 보인다. Link & Place 설계기법은 앞으로 가로설계에서 도로공학 차원의 기능적 분석과 도시설계 차원의 장소적 분석의 통합을 이루는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. |
| 요약2 | The study aims at evaluating feasibility of introducing "Link and Place" design guideline by Jones et al (2007) into Korean urban streets. The design process includes the assessment of the required level of Link and Place, the analysis on street performance indicators for Link and Place functions, and the prioritisation of design improvements for individual street. The application of Link and Place guidelines to the streets in Pedestrian Priority Zone in Mapo-gu, Seoul shows that they can be useful tools to decide design concepts and improvement strategies. For example, a street named Dohwagil was recommended to reduce Link function for cars, but to improve Place function for pedestrians It suggests design alternatives in consideration embedded these recommendations properly. However, it is necessary to study further on developing various street performance indicators to identify the demands of various street users including bicycles, buses, and trucks before practical application. This Link and Place design guideline brings about the integration between functional aspects of highway engineering and place aspects of urban design in the future. |
