| 요약1 | 조선후기 유일한 치외법권 지역이자 국방의 첨단기지로 기능했던 초량왜관(1678~1876년)은 15세기 이후 약 200여 년 동안 존속했던 우리나라의 마지막 왜관이다. 본 연구는 초량왜관의 공간범위가 현재 부산 원도심의 공간 영역과 거의 일치한다는 점에 착안점을 가진다. 도시적 차원에서 부산의 원도심이 가져야 할 '다름'에 대한 창의적 발상으로 '초량왜관의 복원'이라는 전제를 설정하고, 복원 논의의 근거가 될 수 있는 원도심 일원에 잔존하는 초량왜관과 관련된 다양한 유형의 흔적 발굴을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구과정은 크게 3단계로 진행된다. 1단계는 문헌연구를 통해 흔적의 존재와 소멸에 대한 근거를 도출하고, 2단계는 문헌연구와 현장연구를 통해 초량왜관 흔적들의 잔존 형태를 조사·분석하며, 3단계는 앞에서 조사된 흔적들의 특성 및 패턴을 도출한다. 현장밀착조사를 통해 초량왜관의 물리적, 비물리적 흔적에 대한 유형화 및 정리를 시도한 본 연구는 초량왜관 복원에 대한 도시적 관점에서의 사고 확장과 향후 진행될 본격적인 복원에 대한 논의 과정에 있어 시사점 및 복원논의에 대한 근거를 제공할 것으로 판단한다. |
| 요약2 | Choryang Waegwan (1678-1876), the sole extraterritorial area and technologically advanced military base of the late Joseon Dynasty, is Korea's very last Waegwan and has survived for approximately 200 years. This study notes that the spatial coverage of Choryang Waegwan corresponds approximately to that of Busan's historical downtown and that Choryang Waegwan is the last Waegwan and existed for the longest time in Korean history. The study aims to establish the premise that the urban dimension of "the restoration of Choryang Waegwan" can serve as a creative idea for the "difference" that Busan's historical downtown should possess. It also aims to excavate a wide array of vestiges associated with Choryang Waegwan, which can be found in Busan's historical downtown and which can provide the foundation for discussion of its reconstruction. This study, which focuses on close-up field investigation, is significant in that it has formalized and organized both physical and non-physical traces. Also, it is expected that this study will broaden perspectives on the reconstruction of Choryang Waegwan from a municipal standpoint and provide the basis for the discussion over Choryang Waegwan's full-fledged restoration in the near future. |
