| 요약1 | 본 연구는 서울에 사는 시민들이 서울의 이미지를 무엇을 통하여 인지하고 있고 이것들을 어떤 형태로 구조화하는지 알아보고자 한다. 즉 서울의 이미지를 구성하는 요소를 조사하여 그것의 특징을 여러 측면에서 살펴보고 시민들이 도시를 구조화하는데 사용한 방식과 질서를 찾는 것이다. 연구는 크게 두 가지 방법으로 진행되었다. 첫째, 이미지 요소의 특성을 파악하기 위해 요소의 공간적 위치와 조성년도 그리고 시각 및 이용행태 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한1995년과 1999년 그리고 2004년의 이미지 조사 자료 중 일관된 설문조사 항목을 검토하여 시민이 인지하는 이미지요소에 어떤 변화가 있는지 확인하였다. 둘째, 도시이미지 구조의 특성을 파악하기 위해 시민이 그린 심상지도(cognitive map)를 분석하여 이미지 표현범위와 요소의 인지방식에 따라 유형화하여 확인하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음 네 가지이다. 첫째, 서울의 이미지를 구성하는가장 중요한 요소는 산과 강이며 이것이 이미지를 구조화하는데 강력한 기준이 되고 있다. 둘째, 서울의 이미지 요소 중 역사성이 있는 요소들이 지속적으로 나타난다. 셋째, 대부분의 시민들은 서울을 부분보다는 전체적인 원형(原形)의 형태로 인지한다. 넷째, 시민들은 서울의 이미지를 위치형과 연결형 그리고 영역형으로 패턴화하여 인지한다. 본 연구결과는 시민들이 인지하는 서울의 이미지 요소와 구조를 확인하여 도시를 의미있게 해석하는데 도움을 준다. |
| 요약2 | This study aims to find out the physical elements contributing to the forming of images bycitizen of Seoul and to analyse the structures of the images. The study analyses the location,the built year, uses, and visual qualities of image elements to understand the characteristics ofthe image elements. The changes of image elements in the last 10 years is discovered with thehelp of questionnaires done in 1995, 1999 and 2004. To find the structures of imagescognitive maps drawn by citizen are analysed and classified into 4 types according to spatialextent and 3 types according to the way citizen cognizes the environment. The results of thestudy are as follows; First, the most important image elements of Seoul are rivers andmountains, which also act strongly in the structuring of images. Second, historical buildingsand places in Seoul are continuous image elements. Third, citizens recognize Seoul as awhole rather than as a constituent of its parts. Fourth, the cognition patterns of theenvironment by citizen can be divided into location type, connecting type and territory type. |
