The study was conducted to investigate the profile of practice and manner by which interior designers in Cebu, Philippines charge, to see if the country's interior design organization, the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) Document No.5: Guidelines for Standard Fees was being followed, and to find out if there was a need for a new remuneration system, in congruence with the ASEAN integration professional qualifications framework. The research was conducted among interior designers in Cebu. Being a descriptive and quantitative study, the primary instrument used to gather data was a questionnaire. It was found out that interior designers actually still follow and agree with PIID Document No.5. It was recommended to keep the Standard Fees with the inclusion of provisions for the ASEAN integration. PIID Document No. 5 should also be subject for review every 5 years to protect the interior designers against the rising cost of living. |
