The Korean Interior Design market grew an annual average of 16 percent in 2015. The eco-friendly finishing materials market is expected to grow 15 percent annually. The interior design industry has a duty to forecast and prepare for the future than any other industries. The interior design industry will witness South Korea based on "ubiquitous" and requiring the "sustainable" development in the near future. Over the last 30 years, South Korea has had minimal awareness of and response to interior design due to the pursuit of economic growth and industrialization. Architecture and Interior Design require collaboration with various fields including technology, design, electricity, lighting, landscaping, and laws. "Ubiquitous" and "sustainable" are topics that are being multilaterally discussed and interior designers need to change to go with these topics, required by society. Interior Designers needed to expand their role than existing one. Some interior designers began to keep pace with open communication and development rate of digital technology by making and distributing things via the Internet. Thus, they could focus on social relations by establishing their own content. The changes were made to the role of interior designers. As a result, it was inevitable for the field of interior design to expand and grow. |
