This study is to show the spatial characteristics by restoring the plan of Hotel de Rambouillet in Paris, and to consider the elements which caused the development of hotel design. The restoration is made according to the imprints of the Rambouillet's plan which remain in the two study plans of Louis Le Vau, new materials. And I make the forms of the site and buildings clear. As a result, Hotel de Rambouillet proves to have been planned in view of how visitors move and look. Not a few of Rambouillet's devices are found in the later hotels. |
