This paper aims to build up a theoretical framework related to psychophysiological measurement techniques applied in environment-behavior research and covers the main approaches involved in the study of the cognitive aspects of human behavior within the architectural context. These approaches were clustered into psychological, physiological, behavioral and psychophysiological methods. The unimodal application of these methods was criticized for not overcoming the weaknesses of these methods. Multimodal strategies, which combine multiple methods, proved to be more accurate by allowing the analysis of a broader range of behaviors and emotions. |
