Since the 1990's, the housing realm in china encountered a huge diversification of housing patterns and an expansion of apartment buildings scales. Consequently, a variety of social, technical as well as design problems appeared. Through this research, we tried to explore these problems through a series of investigations in the form of questionnaires and interviews with the aim of exploring the inhabitants' evaluation of their multi-family housing environments in Beijing city, according to two main concepts: satisfaction and significance. The multi-family housing patterns in Beijing city have been classified into many categories according to three factors: quality, height and area. Many important key points appeared as a result of this inquiry, that is to say, the importance of maintenance in both multi-family housing buildings and dwellings. |
