The purpose of this study is to clarify how the depression of spirit is projected to interior space. Therefore we researched on the self-expression in the private rooms of people who have the depression of spirit by the photograph projective technique and protocol analysis. Main respondents were young people who retreat from society refusing to go to school or work, and who were physically or mentally abused when they were children. The survey result indicated as follows. (1) In the interior spaces of 'Retreating person', there was little sign of marking. They have not identified their rooms. They seemed to avoid the self-disclosure toward others there. (2) In those of 'Abused person', there were some signs of their rear of blank space and their desire to transform themselves. They tried to find true self by decorating their rooms. They were conscious of how their rooms are thought of by others. |
