Through theoretical consideration of the new architectural form of deployable structures, this research aims to produce a deployable system using scissors mechanism and lateral folding. The results are as follows. Firstly, the deployable system is, in construction, easily constructed and installed and can also be easily moved and stored. And also the system can be easily transported from site to site using a truck and then the system could be transformed to perform different function. In its environmental aspect, it is flexible since in possesses the advantages of being reusable and recyclable. Secondly, deployable structures consist of frame and surface. In this research, scissors members are used for the frame and lateral folding are applied to the surface to come up with a new deployable system. Thirdly, this system can be applied to emergency shelters and also adapted to a wide range of use such as temporary exhibition spaces, workspaces and so on. |
