요약1 This paper discusses the effects of chromatic illuminant on psychological and physiological states. In this experiment, 4 types of fluorescent lamps (red, green, blue and white illuminants) were employed as a light source. The subjects were instructed to evaluate each illuminant by 11 pairs of adjectives on a 5-point scale, and the width of their fingertip venous blood vessel was measured. According to the experiment, red and blue types of illumination were found to have psychological and physiological effects corresponding to hot and cold environments, respectively, and the effect of the green illumination was found to be intermediate between the red and blue illumination both in psychological and physiological effects.
