요약2 Biological models have inspired architecture and have been applied as inspiration of design or have become structural solutions. Recently, the application of biological concepts has become more diverse and active, overcoming past limitations due to the development of digital building technology. In particular, parametric design methods using computer programs are possible and effective for integrated management of form generation and implementation. In this study, the branching patterns of biological models are researched and analyzed their morphological characteristics. The purpose of this study is to suggest the possibility of implementing a branch shape in parametric design method in architectural design. First, we analyze theories of architectural applications related theories of branch morphology. Four types of architectural characteristics of branches are summarized. And we apply this branch shape to architecture and propose an abstract model using Grasshopper. As a result, the parametric architecture that utilizes the morphological characteristics of the branches allows for an aesthetic influence, as well as efficiency, flexibility, and structural robustness. More specific modeling research is needed in the future.
