The purpose of this study was to determine and classify the trend of environmental design research based on biometric information and to seek the direction of research development. Surveys and other methods used for the environmental design research have a limitation of relying on incomplete information or subjective information such as cognitive distortion and memory distortion. However, studies utilizing biometric information can improve the accuracy by quantifying or objectifying even the areas of Human emotions, and therefore is becoming increasingly important in environmental design field. Research method was to extract dissertation of environmental design utilizing biometric information and to do theoretical investigation of the measurement method of the extracted dissertation. Moreover, the analysis of the research dates, research methods, and research subjects of the preceding research was done. This research confirmed that not only is biometric information research is used in various fields of study but that it is also becoming a growing trend in environmental design field. In addition, it has been confirmed that the research scope and target is enlarged from measuring general situations and people. Through this fact, expansion of the research scope to special environment, special circumstances, and special biological characteristics can be predicted. This study has confirmed that in planning environmental design, understanding the Human emotions is recognized as an essential condition. |
