| 요약2 | Today there is a serious concentration problem of audience and capital in the performance facilities as large-scale performances centered around musicals have made an annual 20~30% growth. Unlike mid- or large-sized performance venues, small ones are operated on personal investments rather than the institutional and corporate supports and inevitably stuck in the structural vicious cycle of performance culture market, which involves the deteriorated facility, absence of promotions, poor work quality, disregard by the audience, and operational crisis. As a representative case of them, the small performance venues along the Daehakro are closing down, not being able to overcome their small sizes. The performance art community has thus raised its voices of concern and searched for various alternatives. The study proposed a complex of small performance venues as a cultural community by putting single small performance venues together to utilize urban renewal space for the development of urban culture. It offers a device to guarantee the diversity of works put on the stage at its member venues and aims to expand the base of pure art performance. |
