| 요약2 | Due to aging population, various social problems are occurring in Korea. Isolation and depression of the elderly became very serious problems recently. After retirement, many older persons are suffering from boredom and not very used to participate in leisure activities. There are few elderly welfare centers in urban areas, but most of them are not located in walking distances and their programs are not satisfying various elderly persons’ needs. The purpose of this study is to investigate spatial needs for leisure and cultural activities of the Korean elderly. Spatial requirements for the elderly multi-functional centers will be studied through recent case studies of elderly centers in the US, Japan, Korea. |
