| 요약2 | There have been a number of empirical evidences confirmed that natural features in buildings enhance human's comfort on psychology. These evidences indicate that people suffering from mental fatigue instinctively recover more quickly in a natural environment and for the psychological stability, positive emotional experience is significant through the feeling of connection to nature. The human instinct toward nature is biophilia as a psychological term. However, the evolution of society, science, and industry has separated modern buildings from nature. In this perspective, this paper addresses the assumption that the admiration for historical buildings in contemporary society is attribute to the qualities of biophilic design. The purpose of this study is to figure out elements of interior design based on the design theory of biophilia for psychological healing. Prospect and refuge, one of the strategies for biophilic design, ultimately provides the opportunity to recover from stress and tension and the environments in which people psychologically feel comfortable. This study analyze the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion with the design elements of prospect and refuge in biophilia. In the pavilion, columns and lifting doors can provide the close space for refuge when needed and wire net protects the interior from the dangers of the outside. Upper level of floor and the difference of the ceiling design indicate the territories of refuge.There is a lightness and darkness using natural light for prospect and refuge. |
