With the increasingly diverse and complex exhibition culture, there are more and more cases in which the storytelling technique is applied. As a method to create an exhibition space of new form, storytelling is utilized in a variety of fields including design, culture, art, and architecture. Storytelling in space direction plays an important role in the viewers' story reading within the space via the relationships between the exhibits and path of action since the various patterns of path of action displayed by the viewers during their stay at the exhibition space are planned based on the content of exhibition. In a space where storytelling is applied, the viewers understand and experience the exhibits through movements and accordingly experience the sentimental parts that used to escape them. Experiencing an exhibition space is to interpret a series of symbolized processes through the exhibits, media, and space, which requires the exhibitor to make a plan in the most effective way to communicate with the viewers. Storytelling as a means of communication between the viewers and exhibits, therefore, creates a chance to have new stimuli and experiences and offers messages for the viewers to figure out the patterns of path of action. This study thus set out to analyze the patterns of path of viewing action in the composition of exhibition space and identify directions of path of viewing action effective for exhibition space to use storytelling in future. |
