The 21st century's culture has two key words, Pluralism and Multi-Dimensionality in a process in which the constantly created trends coexist with each other's scope naturally. Surrealism in the 20th century's art, expressed spaces in a creative way. In the art world, Surrealism is extremely wide, but expressional characteristics of Surrealism show some interesting spaces to view from the viewpoints of interior design. Morita Yaumichi from Osaka, Japan is a design who gives users attractive spaces and slight pleasure. He wants to put himself into customers' place, values customers' time and economic payment and his design creates pleasant spaces with serious and non-daily and surreal properties. This study, therefore, aims to analyze how expressional characteristics of surrealism in modern commercial spaces were interpreted, based on his design idea and technique. |
