Fashion and interior space have been in a special relationship in the aspect that they are both the products of time and space related to human behavior and living environment, and have something in common as the applied art to be beneficial to humans. Although they have different scopes of scale and methodologies in the way that while interior space designs a spatial area between a body and the outside, fashion designs a spatial area between a body and clothes, there is a correlation between them, as they both consider the body scale and deal with spaces between bodies. Recently, design exchange between these two areas is getting more vibrant, and the boundary between them is gradually being blurred. This study aims to analyze cases of shop designs reflecting fashion and fashion properties of a Japanese fashion Designer, Issey Miyake who has explored a relation between clothes and a body, based on a correlation between fashion and interior space in, and investigate which way of expression was used to design and display the correlation. |
