Since the latter era of the Choson Dynasty, the modern museum in Korea has been increased in terms of it‘s quantity. However, even though such quantitative growth, there has not been in-depth review regarding the visitor's behavior in museum. Therefore, the condition for social education as applied to museum has yet to be properly carried out in society. Curiously, despite the rise of museum's social role, few have attempted to address the situation and reason of visitor's viewing abandonment in the field of museum study in Korea. To understand this issue, especially related to the viewing abandonment, this study tried to analysis the relationship between the spatial structure, circulation system and visitor density, which was limited to the national and provincial museum of middle class within metropolitan area in Korea. After elaborated research, the study found how the spatial structure had influence on the visitor's pattern of movement and viewing behavior in the exhibition space. The conclusion which can be drawn from this study is that the circulation system determinated the visitor density as for visitor's perception of spatial structure in museum, so that visitor density was demonstrated one of the decisive factors of visitor's viewing abandonment according to have an effect on the viewing speed and concentration on an exhibition. |
