| 요약1 | 본 연구는 건축 디자인 역시 국가의 정체성을 담고 있다고 전제하고 미국을 사례로 하여 미국 건축에 나타난 미국적 정체성을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 즉, 건축을 통하여 한 국가의 정체성을 형성하고 있는 ‘개념’과 ‘속성’들을 찾는 작업을 시도하였다고 할 수 있는데, 그 방법에 있어 본 연구에서는 ‘순수 미술’이라는 제3의 분야의 영향을 중심으로 하였다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 순수 미술에서의 미국적 속성이 어떻게 건축으로 전이되었는가에 대한 일종의 영향관계를 추출하는 것이 본 연구의 목표라고 할 수 있다. 디자인에 나타난 국가적 정체성에 대한 파악의 시도가 다각도로 모색되는 시기에 본 연구는 하나의 사례를 통하여 연구 방법의 모델을 제시하는 것에 그 의의를 두고 있다. |
| 요약2 | As the world becomes more globalized thanks to the fast development of the Internet, a national identity becomes more important than ever before. Based on this, the study searches for the identity of modern American architecture through exploring the influence of modern American fine arts on the contemporary architecture. It was found that the concepts and the attributes of modern American fine arts obviously transferred into the contemporary architecture. The main concept was elimination of any kind of illusion for maximization of reality, and it was rooted into American culture, the way of life and thinking. With the concept, the attributes were divided into two extreme poles: materiality and morphology; the former was evolved from Abstract Expressionism and Post-Minimalism and transferred into Los Angeles Avant-Garde architecture; the latter was from Pop Art and transferred into Postmodern architecture and Pop Architecture. |
