| 요약1 | 본 연구는 경기 지역을 중심으로 한 사례 조사를 통해 조선 후기 중상류 주거를 중심으로 당시 사회구조의 변화가 주거공간의 변천에 미친 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 조사는 조선 후기에 지어진 경기지역의 중상류 주거로 한정하여 이루어졌다. 경기지역으로 한정한 이유는 서울을 중심으로 한 경기지역이 중앙집권적 사회의 특성상 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화의 중심지였으며 지리적으로 한반도의 중앙에 위치하여 대외무역을 통한 상공업이 일찍이 발달하고 수공업과 상업적 농업이 발달한 대표적인 지역이었기 때문이다. 이러한 경제적 배경은 농민층을 빠르게 분화시켰고, 기존의 양반 주택뿐만 아니라 후기에 등장하는 신흥 양반 세력의 주택까지 이 지역에 다양하게 분포하게 되는 이유가 된다.4) 따라서 경기지역의 경제적, 사회·문화적 배경과 중상류 계층의 다양성은 조선 후기 사회 구조의 변화와 중상류 주거공간의 상관관계를 밝히기에 적합한 대상으로 판단되었다. |
| 요약2 | Residential space can be stated as a decisive body compositely affected by environmental, physical, social, and cultural influences. Resulting from this idea, residential space can be defined as a mirror reflecting peoples ' life at that period. Therefore, it is possible to understand the social and cultural aspects of a certain era through analyzing the residential space built and used at that period. Viewing from this point, latter term of Chosun Period, as a transitional period, was a time of collapse for the structure of middle- class society forcing its identity system to be reorganized, and of improving upon commerce, agriculture, and manual industry to enable modernization. Following this idea, the goal of this research is to analyze characteristics of higher middle class residences built at the close of 19th century in Gyeonggi province in order to bring into light the change of social structure of the period. |
