AbstractThis study is one of a series of analyses on the passenger accommodation area of cruise ships. In this study we analyse general arrangement drawings, deck plans, and technical data of 78 cruise ships(52 large cruise ships and 26 medium sized ones built from 1990 until 2000) to understand the space organization of private area and staterooms of cruise ships.The details of this study are as follows;First, we analyse the whole size and passenger capacity of the cruise ships and the data of staterooms in private area. Second, we classify the types of staterooms and analyze the special features of them. Third, we analyse the horizontal and vertical space organization of private area in cruise ships.Fourth, we analyze the space organization and interior design characteristics of the staterooms. Fifth, we state the future of space organization of private area in large cruise ships. |
