This study comparatively analyzed simulation results of DIN V 18599 monthly calculation method, a quasi-steady-state interpretation tool, and EnergyPlus, a dynamic interpretation tool, in regard to glazing and shading system. DIN V 18599 and EnergyPlus' error rates calculated for the base model (Light weight wall) are 12% and 11% for cooling load and heating load, respectively. DIN V 18599 method using monthly average data were comparatively larger than that of EnergyPlus result. We also compared cooling and heating loads after changing glazing and shading system performance (venetian blinds installation, glazing performance improvement, and window area change). DIN V 18599 monthly calculation method's results were approximately 7~14% larger than that of EnergyPlus. Tool developments through modification and improvement of monthly calculation method algorithm based on ISO 13790 and DIN V 18599 are necessary to obtain more accurate energy performance results. |
