In this study, the PCM is applied to the existing cool roof system to solve the urban heat island phenomenon in summer and the heating load increase problem in winter. The optimal application method of the PCM cool roof system was presented by using Building energy simulation program. A total of 162 cases were analyzed by using PCM application, PCM phase change temperature, PCM application thickness, and roof surface reflectance as variables. Applying 0.03 m PCM with a phase change temperature of 30℃ to a roof with a reflectivity of 0.45 shows similar performance to the urban heat island reduction effect of the existing cool roof system. In case of considering summer and winter simultaneously, applying 0.03 m PCM with phase change temperature of 30 to the roof with 0.4 reflectance is the optimal application method. |
