Mold damage, one of major indoor air contaminants, not only spoils building materials, but also is harmful to occupant’s health because it causes skin diseases or respiratory problems. So when it occurs, diagnosis and restoration of the damaged place are very important. There are guidelines for diagnosis and restoration method of mold damage in many countries, but in Korea there are no guideline yet and few studies for mold problem. Therefore, in this study, in order to suggest diagnosis methods and guidelines, the investigation of mold damage at apartment building was conducted. The measurement was performed in summer at 13 apartment buildings which are suffering from mold damage or suspected to have mold damage. Not only indoor but also outdoor mould concentration were measured and analyzed to diagnose mold damage of each place. The questionnaire for analysis of relation between lifestyle and mold damage were also conducted and ISO 16000-19 was referred in the questionnaire. As the result, the mean of indoor mould concentration was 308 CFU/m³. It was verified that correlation between indoor airborne mould concentration and factors such as time of ventilation, number of drying laundry and time of dehumidifier usage. |
