Nowadays many studies have been done about application of renewable energy in the buildings because energy requirements in buildings is increasing and thus fossil fuel is being exhausted. In this study comparison between on a heat pump system which applies ground heat source and existing centrifugal chiller in an office building has been done by comparing the COP and electricity consumption in the building. COP of the chiller and heat pump increased and cooling load decreased as the temperature of heat source decreases. As a result, COP of the ground heat source heat pump increased by around 2.7 through 3.1 compared to conventional chiller, and the electricity consumption was reduced by around 20.6 through 25.1% during the cooling season from June to August. |
