In this paper, two analysis methods in EnergyPlus, Detailed(Split-flux method) and DElight(Radiosity method), are used to simulate illuminance level at various distances from the window. The simulation results show slight difference between those two methods. While in summer condition the variation is very slight, it is more pronounced during winter condition. Further analysis was made in terms of percentage of reflection of light. For summer condition, taking the case of both direct and diffuse light, the result from both analysis is quite similar but for winter condition there is more illuminance at a greater distance as reflection increases from 60?90% but decreases when reflection also decreases from 50?10% when using DElight method. When assuming that there is only diffuse light for reflection, the results are completely different again, where the result from either Detailed or DElight does not match any of the preceeding results. |
