In order to make optimal countermeasures on stack effect with related problems in high-rise buildings, it is essential to grasp the characteristics on distributions of pressure differences and air flow rates in buildings. Moreover, outdoor wind conditions are very important items which affect the characteristics of stack effect in buildings. In this study, the effect of the outdoor wind velocity and wind direction on stack effect in high-rise residential building were performed. From the results of this study, the characteristics of pressure difference and air flow rate in residential buildings are analyzed, compared with the characteristics of office building. And the changes in pressure difference and air flow rate caused by outdoor wind condition are reviewed. The results from this study will be used to make countermeasures which reduce stack effect and its problems in high-rise residential buildings. |
