요약2 To reduce the potential problems of window systems such as excessive heating and cooling load, glare and asymmetric thermal radiation, double skin facades and airflow window systems have been introduced. The current problem with double skin systems is that their operation requires an adequate simulation model to realize optimal control of the system. But the lumped model developed in the previous study was based on off-line calibration. In order to account for change of the system configuration (material properties, multi-storey configurations, dimensional parameters) that cause significant variation in the values of unknown parameters, an online self-calibrating model was developed in the paper. The paper addresses the simulation model, selected unknown parameters and the process of on-line self calibration and model validation. In the paper, it is shown that the on-line self-calibrating simulation model far outperforms the off-line calibrated model in terms of prediction of state variables. Consequently, online self calibration technique will dispense with an in-situ off-line calibration process requiring laborious experiments.
