Recently, Environment-friendly building materials have been developed actively by building material companies. This research aims to present the basic data to develop environment-friendly building materials through the investigation and analysis on the emitted pollutants from building finishing materials. The emission factor of HCHO and VOC's was investigated on the environment-friendly 182 adhesives, 113 paints, 46 wooden flooring boards, and 33 wallpapers used in Korea. The results of the investigation indicate that Toluene, m,p-xylene, Ethylbenzene, o-Xylene, benzene, styrene which are specified as toxic VOC's showed high emission rate and Toluene is major pollutant emitted from most building finishing materials. The results of this research will be used as basic data when we develop environment-friendly building materials. |
