요약2 This paper addresses optimal architectural design using BIM in an early design stage. In this study, the optimal design means optimal types of a double glazing. The chosen performance criteria for decision-making include energy use and PMV. In order to use interoperability between BIM-based CAD applications and building energy analysis tools, Revit Architecture and EnergyPlus were selected. In particular, the authors developed an automatic data transformation (from gbXML to IDF) in MATLAB GUI (Graphical User Interface) platform. It should be noted that selecting optimal design alternatives is a multi-criteria optimization problem. The GA (Genetic Algorithm) was chosen to find optimal design alternatives and Pareto optimality was selected to deal with multi-criteria. Several design alternatives of a sample building (library building, floor area: 7,235, 5 stories) in an early design stage were selected for this study. The results indicate that meaningful information can be delivered to DM(Decision Maker) based on integration of GA with Pareto optimality and BIM interoperability.
