This study addresses the optimal design process of ventilation systems using optimal design and uncertainty analysis in an residential building. The existing design process that only codes into air change rate cannot provide useful information for DM (Decision Maker). In this study, the performance of ventilation systems is introduced to treat the indicators which are not prescriptive but performance. And, the optimal design using Genetic Algorithm(GA) + Pareto + CONTAMW2.4 is performed for solving multi-criteria optimal problems which consist of a constrained discontinuous optimization problem. This study compares the existing design process with the chosen optimal designs in four ventilation strategies. To assess four ventilation strategies in terms of performance indicators, the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) method, one of the Monte Carlo techniques, was employed for uncertainty propagation. |
