The purpose of this study is to reduce heating energy and improve comfort of each room in the university dormitory. Prior to the study, it is presented that the dormitory have two problems by residents. One is a central system of heating, which can not control each room with different setpoint temperature. The other is an absence of ventilation system in each room. Baseline model is modeled showing reasonable prediction for monthly heating energy use by using DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus. This paper also presents three suggestion models, which are an exhaust fan model, a direction alteration model and a north-south zoning model. Approximately 33%(458GJ) of energy consumption could be conserved in the heating season, and thermal comfort of the room is improved with ASHRAE 55-2004. The LCC analysis shows that a cost of investment can be returned in 2.31 years. |
