요약2 Depending on the particulate matter (PM) concentration in the outdoor air, this study investigated the effects of ventilation method on reducing the PM in classrooms via simulation; PM concentration changes were measured and analyzed in the one side corridor type classroom. The outdoor air PM concentration levels were divided into good (30 μg/㎥), normal (60 μg/㎥), and bad (150 μg/㎥). Four cases were identified based on the ventilation method: window open [C-1], with window-mounted air filter installed [C-2], EHP operation combined with the ventilation system [C-3], and the operation of floor-type air purifier [C-4]. The simulation was performed using STAR-CCM+(ver.11.06). Simulation results showed that in [C-1], the outdoor PM concentration were reduced and depicted good level in outdoor air PM concentration level is good. [C-2] and [C-3] showed up to 16.2% increase and 22% decrease, respectively, in PM reduction efficiency compared to [C-1]. Finally, [C-4] showed up to 16% increase in the PM reduction efficiency in comparison to [C-1], demonstrating excellent PM reduction effect.
