요약2 The average U-value of the building envelope is one of the main indicators of the energy performance of buildings. According to Korean standards, documentation about the thermal performance by materials and a planar figure of the envelope are required to verify the average thermal transmittance. These two documents are prepared manually based on two-dimensional drawings, which require much time to prepare and may contain errors. In this study, we propose a method using BIM to prepare the thermal performance by materials and the planar figure of the envelope. For this purpose, we proposed a BIM-based process to calculate the average U-value. This study also proposed a new method for assigning type symbols and a method for correcting the width of the outer. The proposed method was developed as a program, and we performed pilot tests on two difference BIM cases to verify the program. The results showed that the results obtained by manual work and the program were consistent, except for errors caused by rounding. By reducing repetitive work through the method proposed in this study, we expect to improve the credibility of the certification process while reducing the time required to prepare documents for certification.
