요약2 The purpose of this study is to propose a control method applying the load prediction model to control VAV terminal unit. The fixed minimum air flow rate control of the conventional VAV terminal unit is difficult to cope with various changes of the indoor space, so it is important to predict the operation and load situation of the system for optimum control. Therefore, in this study, we predict the building indoor load by using the load prediction model which use the information of HVAC system and develop the control method of the VAV terminal unit based on this prediction. In addition, the proposed control method is compared with the conventional control method in terms of indoor air quality and energy consumption using a dynamic simulation program TRNSYS 17. With the application of the control method of VAV terminal unit using the load prediction model, the air flow rate is reduced by 5~20%, and the HVAC energy consumption is reduced by about 20% compared with the conventional control method using the fixed minimum air flow rate. Also, it was confirmed that the indoor temperature and the indoor carbon dioxide concentration maintained the set values.
