In this study, the empirical results of solar thermal system and photovoltaic system in Jincheon eco-friendly energy town were carried out. In the town, electricity and thermal energy are self-produced and supplied to six types of building (high school, library, management center, public health center, child care center, youth center). The measurement period of the data was cooling season, Jun. 1st to Oct. 16th. The photovoltaic system produced 361 MWh electricity, and the buildings consumed 247 MWh electricity in the season. The plus energy rate of each month was calculated to 103%~208%. In case of thermal energy, the thermal energy is saved in a seasonal thermal energy storage (TES) and a midnight thermal energy storage. The thermal energy saved in the seasonal TES is used of hot water and heating, and the thermal energy saved in midnight TES is used of cooling. The energy saved in seasonal TES supply hot water to the buildings about 38 MWh, and the energy saved in midnight TES supply cooling heat to the buildings about 101 MWh in cooling season. By the results of measurement, the renewable generation facilities can cover the demand of electricity and thermal energy in Jincheon eco-friendly energy town. |
