요약2 Standard heavy weight impact power characteristics 2, Rubber Ball, was included in the revised ?Standard for the accreditation and the management of floor impact noise insulation structure? on Oct. 21, 2013. After two years of the role as another standard heavy weight source, Rubber Ball was excluded again from newly revised Standard announced on Oct. 5. 2015. It is the reason for the elimination that the confusions between two different single numbers derived from different impact sources. This study is to investigate how different the characteristics and the single numbers derived from different octave bands of standard heavy weight impact power characteristics 2. The experiment is designed to derive the role of each octave bands noise of the floor impact type two to the single number rating value. According to the test performed in 64 cases of actual apartment houses, low frequency bands up to 250Hz octave bands have a meaningful impacts on the single number value while 500Hz octave band noise seldom have an effect on the single number value. Roughly 3dB difference is observed between the results with bang machine and rubber ball.
