As the number of old residential buildings increases, the demand for remodeling has become one of the main issues. As the building ages, energy loss through the envelope increases due to thermal performance degradation of insulation. Since the building envelope is a typical part where considerable portion of heat loss occurs, therefore, improvement of energy performance could be expected through the envelope remodeling. However, the existing remodeling has problems such as increase of construction time and cost due to the complicated process to develop the details. Since domestic residential buildings have mostly similar plans and specifications, high utilization could be expected if the envelope remodeling prototype is developed, and construction time and cost could be shortened by reducing the pre-analysis process. In this study, to develop the envelope remodeling prototypes of old residential buildings, we classified the target parts of the prototypes and selected the target part to be developed first. First of all, we analyzed remodeling cases and prototype development cases in domestic and other countries. Next we established the target parts of the prototype and evaluated their applicability. Based on this evaluation, we set up the target parts of envelope remodeling prototypes. |
