요약2 In Korea, building regulations and policies such as certification and subsidies have been encouraging the development of renewable energy production. As a result, a photovoltaic power generation system tends to increase twofold every two years. Currently, fixed photovoltaic systems are most widely used, but for more efficient energy generation, it is possible to consider a solar tracking power generation system that can control azimuth and altitude angles. However, since it can confront the burden of increased initial investment costs, a simple form of tracking power generation system capable of tracking only the altitude of the sun may be considered as an alternative to the system. This study aims to assess the efficiency of altitude tracking power systems by examining the power generation effects of both fixed and altitude tracking systems that are installed at the same time on the same site. For the purpose, we determined quantitatively the amount of power generated by the altitude tracking system through measurements for three months of winter, and derived the basic data required for reviewing the possibility of employing altitude tracking systems and the prediction of power generation efficiency by region from the relations between solar radiation and power generation. The amount of altitude tracking systems’ power generation raised 12.6% compare to fixed system and maximize when daily mean insolation is above 300W/m2.
