Recently, the consumption of not only the winter heating energy but also summer cooling energy is rapidly increasing in public, commercial-residential buildings. It is undoubted that solar heat gain through window is one of major contributors to the cooling load in building. So, the various SHGC test methods developed and environmental conditions employed for cooling energy saving in building are very diverse. In this study, domestic and foreign SHGC test apparatus and test method were reviewed and analyzed. The standards of the test and calculation for SHGC were also examined and environmental conditions were compared. As seen from literature, the various test methods adopted and environmental conditions employed are very diverse. This is due to absence of a well-developed and international standardized test method for SHGC measurement. As such, an attempt was made to develop and indoor SHGC measurement apparatus that os capable of controlling the various parameters and remove the effects of different environmental conditions which can result in accurate SHGC measurement. |
